VANCOUVER — At the BC Hospitality Summit, to be held April 22-24 in Whistler, keynote Stephen Barth will talk about hospitality law and intelligent emotions, while David Sax notes that analog experiences are on the rise.

Author of Hospitality Law and Intelligent Emotions, Barth specializes in communicating the importance of Emotional Intelligence in leadership roles. His opening keynote will be a fun, fast-paced presentation that provides practical information and solutions to enhance both personal and professional lives.

Sax notes that digital promised to upend every industry from retail to manufacturing, education to design.  Yet, analog goods and experiences — tactile, lasting and human — are on the rise. With common sense and charm, Sax shows how digital's one-size-fits-all promise is being enhanced by a fusion of tangible, analog processes.

BC Hospitality Summit is hosted by the BC Hotel Association and Alliance of Beverage Licensees at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Events include a Sunday welcome reception, Monday breakfast and lunch, three keynotes and eight educational sessions. There's also a Marketplace that runs on April 22 and 23.

Nominations still open

The winners of the second annual BC Hospitality Industry Awards will be announced at the BC Hospitality Summit Gala Dinner on April 23. It's not too late to nominate someone for the awards. Nominations close on March 2.
