Country Inn & Suites by Radisson opens in Belleville, Ont.

BELLEVILLE, Ont. — A Country Inn & Suites by Radisson hotel has opened in Belleville, Ont, at 245 North Front Street. The newly constructed hotel features the brand’s latest designs with modern interiors and spacious guest rooms and suites. 

The hotel’s convenient location near Highways 401 and 62 makes it the perfect spot for guests traveling on business, cheering on the Belleville Senators or rolling down the slopes at Batawa Ski Hill. Guests also have easy access to the beaches, wineries and other attractions in Prince Edward County.

“The opening of this beautiful hotel signifies our five-year strategic plan in action as we transform our Country Inn & Suites by Radisson portfolio into our Generation 4 product,” said Aly El-Bassuni, senior vice president, Franchise Operations, Americas, Radisson Hotel Group. “We are excited to roll out our upgraded design in North America and continue to bring our guests an exceptional hospitality experience.”

The hotel offers 69 guest rooms and suites. Guests have access to an onsite fitness center, 24-hour business center, complimentary parking, heated indoor pool and free Wi-Fi. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary, hot breakfast served every morning. The hotel can serve as an excellent space for hosting corporate seminars or special events There are two meeting rooms with flexible configurations equipped to hold up to 40 guests. Each meeting room features free Wi-Fi and audio-visual equipment.

AURORA, Ont. — Gottardo North (Aurora) Inc. has announced that the 110-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Aurora hotel has broken ground on its new building. The hotel is slated to open in first Quarter 2020.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is the parent company of the Holiday Inn Express brand. The hotel will be owned and managed by Gottardo North (Aurora) Inc., under a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.

The six-storey Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel will have the following features and amenities:

— All guest rooms will feature state-of-the-art design & comfort

— The hotel will feature a fitness centre, indoor pool, and two outdoor patios

— Additional guest amenities will include a breakfast bar for guest enjoyment

— The property will feature 1,745 sq. ft. of meeting space, including two meeting rooms and one boardroom

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel in Aurora will feature the brand’s newest design solution which was created to meet the evolving needs of the brand’s target guest. The design features an appealing combination of fresh, energetic and engaging elements, creating a distinctive style that is evident at every touch point of the Holiday Inn Express brand experience.

Features of the new design include:

— An open, pod-style front desk area that delivers a familiar and expedited check in and out experience;

— Flexible seating in the Great Room, including community tables with built in wired and wireless charging where guest can collaborate with colleagues or relax with friends and family;

— Refreshingly streamlined guestrooms that provide comforts and features that allow guests to be productive during their stay and have a great night's sleep, including a built-in niche which houses the under-counter refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and extra supplies in one central location that’s away from the guest bed to reduce noise and enhance quality of sleep, multiple points of power conveniently located throughout the room and functional storage allowing guests to live out of their suitcase or unpack into a variety of storage options.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Aurora hotel will be located at 205 Eric T. Smith Way, conveniently located just south of Wellington Street off Hwy 404 interchange and within walking distance to the Smart Centres Wellington & 404 complex. The hotel will offer such business conveniences as meeting rooms and business centre for your guest requirements. Other amenities will include fitness centre, indoor pool, two outdoor patios, IHG Connect, and Keurig brewers in every room.


Days Inn Swift Current conversion

TORONTO, Ont. — Last week, Realstar Hospitality announced the location of its newest Days Inn by Wyndham franchise. Located in Swift Current, the conversion property features 107 spacious guest rooms, each appointed with flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, plush bedding and large work desk.

Guest rooms with separate living areas, fireplace and whirlpool tub available upon request.

Shovels in ground for fourth U.S. Radisson Blu

ANAHEIM, Calif. —  Radisson Blu, the upper upscale hotel brand from Radisson Hotel Group, brings its fourth United States location to Anaheim, Calif. BPM Real Estate Group and Radisson Hotel Group broke ground on the planned four-star, luxury resort hotel on November 30, with plans to open in mid-2020. 

Prominently located near the Anaheim Resort district on Interstate 5, Radisson Blu Anaheim will be within walking distance to Disneyland resort’s east entrance and the soon to be open Star Wars Theme Park, along with many renowned Anaheim event venues. The hotel will support the growth of the Disney experience and complement Anaheim's leadership in the tourism industry.

“We couldn’t be more excited to continue our incredible partnership with BPM Real Estate Group as we begin construction on our Radisson Blu in Anaheim,” said Ken Greene, president, Americas, Radisson Hotel Group. “This will mark our first Radisson Blu on the West Coast and our fourth in the country. The ground-breaking of this hotel represents our five-year strategy as we continue growing this fantastic brand in key markets throughout the Americas.”

The 12-story hotel will boast incredible views of Disneyland and other Anaheim attractions. Each of the 326 rooms will feature world-class architecture and offer a variety of configurations, including several generous-sized suites and rooms with bunk beds to accommodate large families. For added convenience, there will be a 353-stall garage offering guests plenty of onsite parking. 

The top level of the hotel will have an outdoor rooftop restaurant, bar and social pool with panoramic views of Anaheim and evening Disneyland fireworks. The ground floor have amenities such as a full-service restaurant and lounge, adjacent to a more family-focused pool area including children activities, cabanas and much more. A coffee shop, fitness center, gift shop, and two boardrooms are additional planned amenities.

The development of this hotel will have an economic impact and create hundreds of jobs in the Anaheim area. The hotel will also have sustainable features including reduced water usage, heightened energy efficiency, electric car charging stations and drought resistant native plants with drip irrigation systems. The project will meet California Energy Code Title 24 requirements and is targeted for LEED Silver with the U.S. Green Building Council.


Cora's opens in Days Inn Edmonton hotel

EDMONTON — Cora Breakfast and Lunch invited guests to celebrate their newest restaurant opening in Edmonton, in the Days Inn located at 10041 106 St NW. On the opening day, the first guest received a Cora VIP card, entitling them to one free breakfast a month of a year. Guests also had a chance to win a $100 Cora gift card.

The Edmonton location is just one of 10 new restaurants Cora Franchise Group is opening of in the upcoming year. The Quebec-based breakfast and lunch chain is set to deliver on its ambitious expansion plan with multiple openings planned in Western Canada and downtown Toronto.
