VICTORIA, BC — The newly opened Holiday Inn Express & Suites Victoria – Colwood, B.C. announced in late April the IHG Academy Partnership between IHG & Royal Roads University (RRU) assisting students with their careers.

Under the partnership, RRU provides theoretical knowledge while the Holiday Inn Express & Suites supports work placements that will give participants the necessary skills and practical expertise to be successful in the years ahead. This partnership provides performance feedback and recruitment discussions leading to opportunities within the greater IHG organization along with a certificate of completion at the hotel.

The partnership was driven by Vancouver Island businessman Len Wansbrough and fulfills the Wansbrough family’s longtime desire to support a local initiative that will motivate, inspire and accelerate student graduates to pursue their careers with a strong foundation.

“My father owned the land where the hotel stands today and this has always been a passion. Now my family can finally support RRU and give back to the community in a way that is legacy building,” said Wansbrough in a release.

Wansbrough, a former board member at RRU, located in scenic Colwood, B.C., recalls his many years in the same boardroom where the IHG Academy partnership agreement was signed by RRU President Allan Cahoon – PhD.
