Vancouver — Skål International Vancouver awarded Cruise Lines International Association – North West & Canada (CLIA-NWC) the 2014 Bill Rowe Memorial Tourism Award for CLIA-NWC’s role in contributing to the success and growth of tourism in Vancouver and British Columbia at a Jan. 20 event.
“We are very honoured to be acknowledged and part of this association,” said CLIA-NWC president Greg Wirtz in a release. “It’s also great reconnecting with old friends [at Skål]. Our 11 member cruise lines and many industry partners make the cruise industry a roaring success! CLIA has been in Vancouver since 1986 and our members have set deep roots… Our members generate a quarter million room nights in Vancouver and our association is glad to be part of it.
CLIA-NWC is a non-profit association representing the major cruise lines operating in the Pacific Northwest (British Columbia, Washington State, Alaska and Hawaii) and in Atlantic Canada and Quebec. Established in 1986, CLIA’s role is to develop strong partnerships with the communities in which its member lines are based, and those they visit.
