TORONTO — Travel Gay Canada (TGC), Canada’s only lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) tourism industry association, is bringing its conference, themed Creating Inclusive Tourism Through LGBT Diversity, to Winnipeg April 27-29.
Speakers from across North America will present such topics as “straight talk on the gay market”, “how to effectively use social media”, “the 5 action steps to sell to the LGBT Market” and “creating an LGBT strategy.”
Opening keynote speaker Stuart Knight will lead a presentation, “four conversations for success,” addressing the LGBT market.
Each year, the Canadian LGBT Traveller spends $8.5 billion on travel; 49 per cent spend those dollars traveling within Canada and the LGBT market is one of the very few segments that has consistently increased its spend year over year.
“This conference brings travel professionals from across North America to learn about the importance of this niche but powerful market segment,” said Travel Gay Canada president Colin Sines in a release.
