THREE HILLS, ALTA. — In late March, the brand new BCP Plant in Three Hills began accepting the first modular hotel rooms it will build for the EconoLodge in Fox Creek, Alta.
“We are building all 45 rooms,” said Billy Coles, president of BCP Group of Companies. “The entire hotel project will take six months building time.”
The units are delivered to BCP finished up to the drywall stage. From that point, BCP workers install tape, mud, texture, paint, wall vinyl, flooring, plumbing, electrical, granite, millwork, casegoods, furniture, fixtures, equipment, window coverings, and finally, a door and lock. At that point, the room is ready to be moved to the Fox Creek hotel site, placed “and completely ready for our first guests,” said Coles.
He added that, longer-term, “we plan to build many more hotels in this style. We are in negotiations with other hotel owners to build the same type of product all across Canada. It is very environmentally friendly due to the concrete and steel construction, and has an amazing sound rating. Furthermore, when they leave the plant, the units are totally complete and sale-ready.”
