Fifty per cent — or almost 100 — Canadian Best Western hotels earned
TripAdvisor certificates of excellence this year. This award is
determined by customer experience ratings and is usually awarded to
just 10 per cent of total hotels listed on TripAdvisor.com, making Best
Western’s percentage of hotels included all the more impressive. To
qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an
overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed
by TripAdvisor users.

A total of 1,573 Best Western hotels globally received TripAdvisor
Certificates of Excellence – this is 41 per cent of Best Western hotels
worldwide.

In North America, 883 Best Western hotels received TripAdvisor
Certificates of Excellence this year. The figure represents a 34 per
cent increase over last year’s total of 658 Best Western hotels in
North America. The total includes hotels across all three descriptor
categories – Best Western, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier.

Ninety-eight per cent of Best Western hotels are ranked three stars
or higher on TripAdvisor. In 2012, Best Western redesigned
bestwestern.com to enhance the user experience, including integrating
TripAdvisor hotel reviews on the site.
