TORONTO — Franchisor Choice Hotels Canada opened three economy brand properties during the fourth quarter of 2016, increasing the total number of hotels in the system to 322, it was announced Jan. 12.
“The growth of our economy brands in Canada is a strong indication of travellers’ needs for comfort, convenience and value while on the road,” said Brian Leon, managing director, Choice Hotels Canada, in a release. “We have no doubt these new additions will serve as fantastic representatives of our Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn brands in Canada.
Fourth-quarter Choice Hotels Canada openings include Econo Lodge, Fox Creek, Alta. (45-room new-build); Econo Lodge, Sudbury, Ont. (34-room conversion); and Rodeway Inn, Trois Rivières, Que. (101-room conversion).
The company expects to open four hotels in the first quarter of 2017.
