BRAMPTON, ON—As part of their commitment to team spirit
and involvement Don Cherry`s Sport Grill Inc. hosted their annual menu review
meeting in Brampton, Ontario late last month. Owners and operators from across Canada, gathered
at the Don Cherry’s Sports Grill facility located at 500 Ray Lawson Blvd. in Brampton for
this two day event.

Attending day one events, Don Cherry
provided owners and operators with a chance to share ideas and stories. He also autographed sports memorabilia, for their customers, or to support
their local charities.

During the two days, owners were invited to
review new menu items, presented by executive chef Tim Turner, who explained
everything from preparation, presentation and costs for each new menu item.
Owners and Cherry then participated in taste testing of each new item. Voting
on new menu items took place on day two of the meeting, and those items that
received the majority vote will be added to the new Don Cherry`s Sports Grill
menu, which will be introduced across the system in May 2014.

“I always look forward to that day. I meet all the franchise guys and we have a lot of fun talking about hockey and the restaurant business,” Cherry told CLN in an interview. “They always bring sweaters and sticks for me to sign for their charities.”

“We are adding soft tacos with both fresh fish and crispy shrimp as well as a foot long jumbo Nathan's hot dog and pork bam bams (super tender pork
that literally falls off the bone—yum!),” licensor Chris Painter told CLN. “These are but a few of the new tastes that will find themselves through the stores shortly.”

Chris and his brother Darrel Painter, Don Cherry`s
Sports Grill Inc. licensors, presented 2014 marketing and operational ideas including
new online technology for operators to consider. Operators also
shared best practices amongst the group as part of the overall experience.

“This two day event is what makes us
unique, and creates the commitment and support that we look for from our Don
Cherry`s operators; most of all having a menu that we all agree to is part of
our overall success,” said Chris Painter. “Having Don Cherry here to
lend his support just makes this one of the best events of the year.”

Cherry's favourite items included the small ribs and the hot dogs. “Sometimes you eat ribs and they're so greasy. These were nice and crispy and cut small the way I like them,” he said. “The hot dogs are a whole meal — they look like they are a foot long.

“It's a real friendly atmosphere,” added Cherry. “Meeting the group, hearing about their commitment to local
community activities and charities, is a big part of what Don Cherry's Sports
Grill is all about, not to mention the great food that I had the pleasure of
tasting as well. Can`t wait to see the new menu.”

Don Cherry`s Sports Grill has launched an expansion program across
Canada and will opening their
newest location in North York, ON very soon.
They are currently seeking hotel partners for the restaurants.
