OAKVILLE, ONT. — Canadian travel agency Flight Network released on March 23 its first annual list of Canada's most unique accommodations comprising exceptionally unique and extraordinary places to spend the night across the country.

The team at Flight Network evaluated close to 100 hotels, lodges, cabins, and other types of places to stay based on a number of factors including uniqueness, comfort level and amenities.

Winners include accommodations for the adventure lover to enjoy wildlife up close or the cold-weather lover looking for a true winter accommodation option. For example, the Hotel de Glace, in Quebec City, offers the opportunity to sleep on a bed made of ice, while another winner, Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux, in Saint-Fulgence, Que., lets visitors dangle from treetops in a tiny orb.

“I've visited every province and territory in Canada, and stayed in many of these hotels, and truly think that staying in these unique options adds an extra something special to your travel experience,” said Tim Johnson, travel writer for the Globe and Mail, in a release.
