Hôtel de Glace experiences record number of overnight guests

QUEBEC CITY — Since the Hôtel de Glace opened on Jan. 3, a record number of people have experienced, or plan to experience, an overnight stay at the Quebec City property.

QUEBEC CITY — Since the Hôtel de Glace opened on Jan. 3, a record number of people (over 5,140) have experienced, or plan to experience, an overnight stay at the Quebec City property, the hotel announced on Jan. 26. By the March 22 closing date, the Hôtel de Glace expects to reach a 95 per cent occupancy rate.

“For the third straight year, the Hôtel de Glace can boast a record number of stays,” said the property’s CEO Jacques Desbois in a release.

In 2014, almost 5,000 overnight guests stayed at the Hôtel de Glace. Since the first hotel opened in 2001, over 50,000 people have stayed overnight.

Onsite amenities include 44 theme rooms and suites made entirely of snow and ice; a chandelier; Super Slide and an Ice Bar serving cocktails in glasses made of ice.

On Jan.16, a crowd of 1,400 was on hand at the property’s 15th anniversary celebration featuring fireworks and a DJ.
