“The members attending were engaged and it was one of the best trade shows that I have attended.”- 2019 BC Hospitality Summit Participant

At this year’s fourth annual sold-out BC Hospitality Summit in Kelowna, over 40 industry leading suppliers of hospitality goods and services participated in the conference Marketplace. BC Hospitality Summit is hosted by the BC Hotel Association (BCHA) and the Alliance of Beverage Licensees (ABLE BC) and is attended by 250 of the province’s top hoteliers, liquor retailers, and publicans.

The Marketplace, an integral part of Summit, is a tradeshow environment where suppliers to the hospitality sector have the opportunity to network and discuss product innovations, cost-saving opportunities, and examine sourcing options in an environment designed to help delegates interact with the Marketplace participants.

Through the use of a passport style system, delegates are encouraged to visit and speak to all participating suppliers and to answer at least one business-related question from them prior to receiving a sticker verifying their visit. Delegates who completed their passports were entered in a draw to win over 40 prizes, from a luxury bed, to a 55” LED television, a Dyson Cool Purifier and a host of other items.

Based on initial Summit survey results, 90 per cent of those that participated in the Marketplace stated that the conference provided good/excellent value and indicated that Summit offered an excellent opportunity and format to connect with hospitality operators from across the province.

Jason Cheskes, who runs the supplier-related program of Summit for BCHA commented “We cannot be happier with the response from Summit delegates and suppliers. One Marketplace participant’s experience sums it up best:

'Best Hotel Summit I have attended in the past 10 yrs. As a vendor, our main objective is to connect with potential clients and net work with suppliers. The 2019 BC Hospitality Summit hit a home run on both.'

2020 Summit planning is well under way and a date and location will be announced in the very near future. For further information or to request Marketplace participation for the future, contact
