LAS VEGAS — On Tuesday night, Comfort Inn & Suites Campbell River was recognized as Choice Hotel of the Year for Canada, and on Wednesday the same hotel was won the International award for Comfort Hotel of the Year. The announcements were made at the 63rd Annual Choice Hotels International
Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Internationally, Comfort Inn & Suites was among 11 finalists, including Comfort properties from France, Germany, India , the U.K., Japan, Brazil, Australia, Mexico and China. The award was presented at the Hotel of the Year Awards dinner last night. General manager and part owner Jonathan Shead was on hand to receive the award.
Located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the 56-room property has one of the best views in this city of 35,000 people, billed “the salmon capital of the world.”

Campbell River was chosen from 11 hotel nominees for the Canadian award. The
nominees were recognized as the top performing properties among more than 325
hotels within the Canadian Choice Hotels family.
