Hotel groundbreaking ceremony for Quality Mont-Joli
MONT-JOLI, Que. — Earlier this month, the mayor of Mont-Joli, Martin
Soucy, Choice Hotels franchise development director for Quebec and Atlantic
Canada, Marc St-Gelais, and promoter Jean-Marie Lamontagne from Construction de
l’Avenir came together for a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the
construction of a new Quality Inn & Suites near the town's traffic circle.
The groundbreaking marks an important step in the
execution of this project, which totals close to $8 million. Mayor
Martin Soucy welcomed the start of the construction work.
“Today marks a critical step of this hotel
project. Our city is proud to house this property, which will add to the
lodging options for Mont-Joli and La Mitis, and will help retain tourists. I
applaud the promoter’s boldness and vision, and thank Choice Hotels for its
investment. This project attests to the trust that Jean-Marie Lamontagne and
Choice Hotels have in our
city and its future,” said Mayor Soucy before the 40 people attending the

The three-floor hotel will operate under the Quality Inn
& Suites brand and will be built according to Quality standards. “Choice

New meeting space part of $55+ million renovation
VANCOUVER — Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, located in the heart of

HNA sells its interest in Radisson Hospitality

an agreement with a consortium led by Jin Jiang International Holdings Co.,

Motel 6 – Red Deer

Realstar Hospitality recently announced change in ownership of the Motel 6 located
in Red Deer, Alta.
Effective August 16,
2018, Motel 6 — Red Deer was acquired by Dream Paradise Hospitality Ltd. from
the existing owners, Dimension 3 Hospitality (d3h). A first for the company, the

WoodSpring, Mainstay are top performers for Choice U.S.
ROCKVILLE, Md. — WoodSpring Suites is on
pace to significantly exceed the brand’s previous record for the number of new
franchise agreements awarded in a single year.
Through the first half of
the year, the brand, which is franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc., executed 46 franchise agreements, all but two of which took place
after being acquired by Choice on February 1. WoodSpring now boasts more than
340 hotels open or in the pipeline.
In addition to WoodSpring Suites’
development pace, Choice’s midscale extended-stay hotel brand, MainStay Suites,
is also growing rapidly. In the first half of the year, MainStay franchise
agreements increased 27 percent over the same period of 2017.
