MEDELLIN, Colombia — Arturo
García Rosa, president and founder of SAHIC, says Tourism
in South America keeps on growing above world average, a compelling reason to attend SAHIC 2018 to be held in Medellin, Colombia, Sept. 24-25.

“The
data reviewed by WTO (World Tourism Organization) by the end of the first
four-month period of this year, show that the tourism growth perspective in a
global level has grown from 4 to 6 per cent, 50 per cent more than what was projected by the end
of 2017,” Garcia Rosa noted in his newsletter, LATAM e-News.

Last
year, worldwide growth was 4.2 per cent, while for South America it was 7 per cent, high above
that average. Colombia led the pack among destinations contributing to this growth (28.3 per cent), followed by Argentina (21.5 per cent), Chile (16 per cent), Uruguay (18.4 per cent) and
Paraguay (21.1 per cent).

SAHIC
South America, established in 2008, is the premier hospitality and tourism
investment conference and the only meeting of its kind conducted in the
continent.

“SAHIC
South America certainly contributes to understand where the industry is
today and where it is heading, but above all, it helps to understand where the
opportunities lie, how to meet the right partners and build the partnerships
that may increase business opportunities,” according to the SAHIC website.
