TORONTO — Hoteliers across Canada have returned home with prestigious awards announced April 11 following Starwood’s Specialty Select Brands Summit in Phoenix, Ariz.
A total of seven awards were presented to Canadian Four Points and Element Hotels across the country, during the awards celebrations held in Phoenix during the annual summit.
The 2015 General Manager of the Year Award for Element Hotels North America went to John Caneco from the Element Vaughan Southwest, in Ontario. The hotel also received accolades and the Most Improved TripAdvisor Popularity Index Award for an Element Hotel.
The 2015 HOT Hotel Opening of the Year went to Element Vancouver Metrotown, in Burnaby, B.C. The hotel also won the Starwood Preferred Guest Hotel of the Year for the Element brand.
Four Points by Sheraton Edmundston, in New Brunswick, garnered the 2015 Top Guest Loyalty Score of the Year for the Four Points brand.
The Top Business Development Award for Business Transient Efforts was presented to Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna, B.C., team and the Team Hot Award for most definite leads sent to other Starwood hotels globally went to Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites London, Ontario.
A total of 17 nominations for Canadian specialty select brand hotels were submitted for award consideration.
