Stats Can: Gap between outbound and inbound Canadian travel flows widens

OTTAWA—According to Statistics Can data released in April,
Canadians took 5.6 million trips abroad in February. This is a 1.5
per cent increase from January.

Travel to the U.S rose 1.7 per cent in February
to 4.9 million trips. In addition, trips to other destinations
rose 0.4 per cent to 768,000. 

Trips consisting of one or more nights to the United States
rose 3.1 per cent to 2 million trips. Travel by saw an increase
of 3.7 per cent to 1.2 million trips and travel by plane
increased 2.9 per cent to 669,000 trips.
