TORONTO –– Superior Lodging Corp. has been honoured with the Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation, it was announced March 9. The 2017 Best Managed program recognizes the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $15 million demonstrating strategy, capability and commitment to achieve sustainable growth.
“Best Managed companies deserve recognition for their entrepreneurial approach to excelling in an uncertain economic climate. They truly bring out the best in Canadian business leadership,” said Lorrie King, partner, Deloitte and co-leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program, in a release.
Superior Lodging Corp was successful in its efforts to requalify for the designation for a third year due to the strength of its internal human resource and employee support programs and its ability to manage costs while driving revenue in a down economy.
Established in 1993, the Canada’s Best Managed Companies awards program recognizes Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices. Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel made up of judges from Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums. Best Managed companies share commonalities that include an emphasis on culture and people, innovation, sustained performance and strong financial results.
“2016 was a challenging year for our industry and our company, but the diversification of our investments allows us to realize solid gains, despite the downturn in many regions,” said Samantha Charlesworth, chief financial officer, Superior Lodging Corp., in a release.
The 2017 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 19.
