VANCOUVER — Following the success of last year’s launch of the BCHA Hotel VIP
Leader’s Dinner to celebrate the BC Hotel Association’s 100th Anniversary,
this year’s event took place at Vancouver’s #1 rated restaurant, The Blue Water
Café.
The social event following the Western Canadian Lodging Conference
saw 60 top hotel industry leaders attend including such brands as Marriott, Wyndham,
Fairmont, Sandman, Travelodge, Canalta, Accor, Days Inn, Red Lion, Coast, Motel
6, Accent Inns and Executive Hotels. Also attending were a number of ownership, development and management companies including Oxford
Properties, SilverBirch, Atlific, Superior Lodging, MasterBUILT, Realstar, Manga,
Evergreen, and AHIP along with other western owners and operators.
Jason Cheskes, president of Above the Line Solutions, a company
involved nationally in many aspects of hotel procurement and support services, once
again organized a top-level experience for all.
“It is a great honour to be able to work with
BCHA to have the opportunity to gather such a fantastic group of industry
leaders. The dinner serves to provide the opportunity for all to get know each
other better in a casual, relaxed environment. Blue Water Cafe and their team
did a great job and they deserve all the praise they receive, and days later I
am still hearing fantastic feedback from those that attended,” Cheskes stated.
This year’s event sponsors included LG Electronics, Ecolab, Serta,
Eden Textiles, RHB Enterprises, National Payments, and Foodbuy.
James Chase, president and CEO of BCHA, remarked to CLN, “We really
appreciate the high-quality event that Jason has put together with the support
of our partner sponsors. BCHA is happy
to have opportunity to gather so many of key industry leaders and association members
and support our industry’s cohesion and alignment. We plan to continue this
event well into the future.”
He added that The BC Hotel
Association Summit is being held in Kelowna April 8-9th. Information can be found at www.bchospitalitysummit.com.
