TORONTO – Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced on Dec. 8 that Peter Nowlan has been appointed executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, effective Jan. 20, 2016.
In his new role, Nowlan will lead Four Seasons’ global sales and marketing team, overseeing brand marketing, fourseasons.com and digital ecosystem, public relations, social media, marketing communications, advertising, worldwide sales force and central reservations organization. He will work across the company and with regional teams to execute global sales and marketing strategies. Nowlan will be based at Four Seasons headquarters in Toronto and will report to president and CEO J. Allen Smith.
Nowlan succeeds Susan Helstab, who, after more than 28 years with Four Seasons, announced her retirement in April and will be leaving at the end of 2015.
Bringing 25 years of experience leading marketing efforts for some of Canada’s top consumer brands, Nowlan most recently served as chief brand and marketing officer at Tim Hortons Inc. Prior to joining Tim Hortons, Nowlan was chief commercial officer for Molson Coors Canada. This appointment followed four years serving as the organization’s chief marketing and strategy officer as well as 17 years with Kraft Foods, where he held senior leadership roles throughout Canada, the U.S. and the Asia Pacific region.
