TORONTO — “Michael Jackson was a man of intellect, poise and passion. His determination and passion was felt by all of those that were blessed to work with him in any capacity,” said Dr. Steve Gupta of Canadian hotelier Michael (Mike) L. Jackson, who passed away on March 28 at the age of 63 following a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
“He was also a
mentor to many — his love for his work and for others will carry forward and so
his legacy will live on,” said Dr. Gupta.
Jackson most recently worked with Dr. Gupta as senior vice-president operations with Easton’s Group of Hotels, and boasted a
hospitality career that spanned more than four decades.
His career saw him
manage hotels across the country and hold senior management roles with
companies such as Westmont Hospitality Group, Choice Hotels Canada, Pacrim
Hospitality/ Holloway Lodging REIT, and his own company, Dominion Grand Hotel Group.
“As a leader in the hospitality Industry for over 40 years, his work ethic and integrity was highly respected,” said his obituary in the Toronto Star. “Most recently SVP at Easton's Group of Hotels, Mike also served on numerous industry boards including HAC and CPSA. It is easy to see the personal and professional mark he left in every area.”

Conference Centre, Oakville, Ont.
