Adrian Beers and Kay Bonsu have joined the culinary team at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Beers will serve as food and beverage director while Bonsu is the hotel’s new executive chef. Beers most recently spent more than a decade as food and beverage manager at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. He brings more than 35 years of experience to his new role and will oversee Fairmont Hot Springs’ seven distinct restaurant and café concepts as well as banquet and wedding facilities. Bonsu previously held chef positions at various properties in Ontario, including the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. He was also part of the culinary leadership team during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler, BC, where over 77,000 meals were served to athletes and staff. The current roster of food and beverage experiences at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort include the Bear’s Paw Bar & Grill, Antlers at the Lodge, Steamers Café, Desperados, Poolside Snack Bar, Mountainside Grille and Dapper’s Landing as well as several special event venues and banquet facilities.
Constantin Nassif has been appointed executive director of assets, with Montreal-based Sageblan Investments Ltd. Sageblan is a real estate investment firm with a portfolio that includes two hotels, the 353-room Hôtel Place Dupuis in downtown Montreal and the 127-room Hôtel Plaza Valleyfield in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Québec. Nassif joined the company in October, after more than two and a half years with Carbonleo, a private Quebec-based property development and management company. Nassif was most recently senior director, asset management, with Carbonleo.
Sol Zia is the new executive director of the Calgary Hotel Association. Zia was appointed in October 2019 and brings experience in both marketing and politics to the role. He succeeds Peggy Athans, an experienced executive director who left the role in August 2019 after more than two years in the role.
