Realstar recognizes top Motel 6 hotels with awards

TORONTO — Realstar Hospitality presented its 2014 Awards of Recognition to three properties from across Canada.

TORONTO — Realstar Hospitality announced on May 19 that at its Canadian regional meeting for Motel 6, the company presented its 2014 Awards of Recognition to three properties from across Canada.

Property of the Year, Western Canada, went to Motel 6 – Moosomin, Sask. Property of the Year, Eastern Canada was awarded to Motel 6 – Kingston, Ont., and New Property of the Year was given to Motel 6 – Innisfail, Alta.

Also noteworthy, G6 Hospitality LLC awarded Motel 6 – Headingley/Winnipeg West, Man., with the Great Award for Q1 performance. The hotel was the only franchised Motel 6 in North America to be recognized.

Five new SilverBirch properties received Green Key ratings

VANCOUVER — SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts announced on June 1 that five new hotel properties have been awarded designation under the Green Key Eco-Rating Program. With the new additions, all 14 of SilverBirch’s hotels are now Green Key certified.

The latest hotels to receive the designation are DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton, Home2 Suites by Hilton West Edmonton, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre Regina, Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax-Downtown, and Hampton Inn by Hilton Halifax-Downtown. Each received 4 Green Key recognition for sustainable operations. In addition, Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver Downtown now carries a 5 Green Key rating, the highest ranking available.

Review site names Marriott Fallsview 2015 Family Vacation Critic Favourite 

NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. — Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa announced on May 15 that it has been named a 2015 Family Vacation Critic Favorite, which represents hotels that go “above and beyond,” by, TripAdvisor's family travel site.

Marriott Fallsview is part of a group representing the top tier of hotels listed on the site. The hotels on this list have met a set of criteria based on reviews from the site's editors and community of family travelers.

To achieve ‘Favourite’ status, the Marriott Fallsview received a rating of 4-plus from the site’s editorial staff. In addition, at least 75 per cent of family reviewers have recommended Marriott Fallsview by giving it a 4-plus rating in their review.
